Experience

Matthew English is a Senior Managing Director at Arch + Beam and is an experienced strategy, operations and turnaround consultant. He has a proven track record of helping middle-market and multi-national companies improve performance and restructure operations. His expertise focuses on helping companies optimize their sales, operations, and organizational capabilities to drive increased productivity and margin improvement.

Mr. English has managed initiatives related to strategic planning, performance improvement, merger integration/divestitures, organizational restructuring, outsourcing, and process/IT improvement. In addition, his work has focused on helping companies leverage core business assets (people, process and technology), adjust cost structures, and develop new revenue streams to enable business stabilization and growth. Mr. English’s international work experience includes engagements in the U.K, France, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia, India, and China. He has managed multiple global Program Management Offices with teams reporting into him from the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and Europe. He is very experienced working across multiple cultures simultaneously, and knows how to build a high performing international team working face-to-face or remotely.

Roles & Certifications

He has held the title of CRO, CEO, COO and CFO for a variety of public and private companies and has been a trusted advisor for middle-market to multi-billion dollar companies. His work has also included roles as Chapter 11 Financial Advisor, Federal Receiver, Assignee for Assignment for Benefit of Creditors and an advisor to a Chapter 11 Trustee.

His background includes working for Deloitte & Touche and Accenture. He was 2021 TMA Global President and 2022 TMA Global Chair.

Mr. English received his B.S. in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University. He is a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (“CIRA”), Six Sigma Black Belt, certified Project Management Professional (“PMP”), and Certified Turnaround Professional (“CTP”). He lives with his wife and three children in Northern California.
